  • PRODUCT DETAIL

This is a pot magnet with external threadeds. Its stud is machined as a single piece with the steel cup body, available in thread sizes from M3 to M12 and breakaway forces from 2 kg to 480 kg.

The advantage of this external thread is its easy screw-in installation without tools or hardware. The threaded stud can be directly screwed into any compatible threaded hole on the bracket, housing, clamping plate, or structural component – without additional bolts, nuts, washers, or drilling jigs. After screwing in, the distance between the magnet surface and the target surface can be finely adjusted by screwing the stud in or out, enabling precise gap adjustment for workpieces of different thicknesses, sensor mounting tolerances, or impact force adjustments. Note: The pull force is the test value under ideal conditions (direct attraction to a clean, flat 5mm thick low-carbon steel plate). In actual applications, factors such as paint, rust, air gaps, and thin steel plates will reduce the breakwaway force.

Key Features

  1. Integrated threaded stud – zero extra hardware: The stud and steel cup are integrally molded; simply screw it into the pre-threaded hole to complete installation. No additional bolts/nuts/washers are needed, and it can be completed with one hand, suitable for narrow or tilted operating spaces.
  2. Screw-in height adjustment – precise gap control: Adjusting the screw depth by rotating the stud in both directions allows for fine-tuning of the distance between the magnetic surface and the adsorption surface. This is suitable for sensor trigger spacing calibration, fine-tuning of the attraction force, and clamping of workpieces with varying thicknesses.
  3. Locknut vibration locking – robust mechanical retention: With a hexagonal locking nut or nylon self-locking nut, both magnetic attraction and mechanical thread locking provide dual protection, suitable for continuous vibration applications such as rotating machinery, rail vehicles, and industrial automation.

Applications:

1.Lighting Fixtures, Sensors & Instrument Screw-In Mounting

External threaded pot magnets are the standard fixing solution for magnetic-base work lights, proximity sensors, reed switches, and measuring instruments. The threaded stud screws directly into the pre-tapped hole on the housing of the lamp or sensor, while the magnetic face sits outward to adhere to steel machine tables or equipment frames.

2. Adjustable Magnetic Bases, Clamping Arms & Articulating Fixtures

Adjustable magnetic bases rely on the external threaded interface to connect the pot magnet to a universal joint arm. For precision measurement, this magnet securely attaches to cast-iron machine tables; the stud provides full-torque connection to the arm, while the locknut prevents zero-point drift during measurement. Repositioning is as simple as lifting and re-placing – much faster than T-slot clamps. In film and photography, the same magnet safely supports DSLR camera rigs and Fresnel light stands, with the stud firmly locking to pan-tilt heads and bracket arms to withstand dynamic loads from vehicle motion and wind gusts.

3. Automation End-of-Arm Tooling & Robotic Screw-On Adapters

Industrial robot magnetic grippers demand precise, repeatable attachment to flanges or quick-change interfaces. The threaded stud screws directly into the pre-tapped tooling plate and locks in place – no need for a separate nut on the opposite side. This simplifies gripper changeover, allows the tool plate to be made thinner and lighter, and improves the payload efficiency of small collaborative robots.
