  • PRODUCT DETAIL

This rectangular neodymium pot magnet (also called channel magnet) features two countersunk holes. Compared to the single-hole version, the length is extended to 40–120mm, and the single centre screw hole is upgraded to two symmetrically positioned countersunk holes – each located near the short edges at both ends. Once secured with both screws, any rotational tendency is counteracted by the force couple generated by the two fasteners. Bending forces along the length are also completely eliminate the single-point deflection mode common in central hole designs. This dua-anchor approach ensures the magnet stays flat, square, and firmly in place under load. With a vertical pull-off force ranging from 17 to 40 kg, this magnet is ideal for medium-duty mounting applications in slotted channels and tracks. Need a non-standard size or a different pull force? Note: The pull force is the test value under ideal conditions (direct attraction to a clean, flat 5mm thick low-carbon steel plate). In actual applications, factors such as paint, rust, air gaps, and thin steel plates will reduce the breakwaway force.

Key Features

  1. Dual–Point Symmetrical Fixing: Two screws positioned at opposite ends create a dual-point mechanical constraint that completely eliminates any axial rotational tendency. Unlike single-point fixing, the dual-screw clamping acts as a rigid connection, providing far superior resistance to eccentric forces – such as off-centre door catch impacts or lateral push-pull loads on sliding panels. This two-anchor design ensures the magnet stays firmly aligned and stable, even under dynamic or asymmetric loading.
  2. Flush Fit in Standard Slots: With a 5mm body height, this magnet is perfectly matched to standard aluminium extrusion T-slots, furniture slides, and deep-routed channels. It sits flush within the slot – no part protrudes above the slot lips. The working face aligns exactly with the bottom of the channel, ensuring full, gapless contact with the mating steel surface for maximum magnetic holding efficiency.
  3. Symmetrical Hole Edge Distance: A 5mm steel web is retained at each end, providing balanced structural margins. The clamping force from both screws is distributed evenly along the entire length of the magnet – no stress concentration at one end. This symmetrical design ensures that the full width of the magnetic working face makes uniform contact with the steel surface, delivering consistent holding force across the whole body and preventing tilting or uneven wear.

Applications

1. Sliding Door Long-Edge Catches & Wardrobe Rail Magnetic Closures

The long-rectangular pot magnet is specifically designed for wide-span sliding door applications. It mounts horizontally into the top or bottom guide rail slot, spanning 100-120mm along the door height to engage a steel striker plate – rather than relying on a single-point contact. The two screws lock the magnet rigidly into the rail channel, preventing the magnet from shifting laterally due to inertial impulse when the door reaches its stop position. This ensures consistent, silent latching every time, even with heavy or high-speed doors.

2. Machine Guard Long-Edge Retention & Industrial Enclosure Panel Fixing

Industrial machine guarding and electrical enclosure side panels are often held magnetically to steel or aluminium frames. The long edges of these panels are the most vulnerable to displacement from accidental contact, tool impacts, or pressure differentials from internal cooling fans. By installing dual-screw magnets at evenly spaced intervals along the frame slot channels, you provide continuous, rigid magnetic retention across the full length of the panel. This prevents edge lifting, bowing, or dislodgement – maintaining safety and seal integrity.

3. Long Woodworking Positioning Bars & Extended Template Guides

In precision woodworking, straight-edge positioning strips and template guides are used to route routers, sanders, saws, and drilling jigs along defined paths. These guides need to be held rigidly and accurately against a steel reference surface or steel-backed workbench – without obstructing the tool’s travel path. A long magnetic positioning strip spanning the full workpiece width, fixed with two anchor points, offers far greater stability than a single-point centre-fix design. It resists shifting under tool vibration and ensures repeatable, accurate cut lines across the entire workpiece.
