  • PRODUCT DETAIL

This is a high-performance permanent magnetic assembly. It features a neodymium core inside a precision-machined low-carbon steel cup. The centre bore is straight, not tapered. The hole has the same diameter from top to bottom, which allows a bolt or threaded rod to pass completely through the magnet. You can then secure it with a nut on the opposite side.

With this bolt-through design, you can sandwich the magnet between two structures. A standard hex nut or flange nut locks everything in place. The joint is held by both magnetic attraction and mechanical fastening at the same time. Unlike countersunk single-side mounting, the straight bore gives superior resistance to shear forces, vibration, and shock loads. That makes it ideal for demanding environments. It is widely used in industrial machinery panels, protective guards, conveyor system components.

Our through-hole pot magnet with outer diameter from 16 mm to 120 mm and breakaway forces from 5 kg up to 400 kg. So whether you need light-duty positioning or heavy industrial clamping, this straight-bore pot magnet covers the full spectrum of bolt-through magnetic fastening needs. Note: The pull force is the test value under ideal conditions (direct attraction to a clean, flat 5mm thick low-carbon steel plate). In actual applications, factors such as paint, rust, air gaps, and thin steel plates will reduce the breakwaway force.

Key Features

  1. Wider Screw Compatibility: Through-hole pot magnets are far more versatile when it comes to fasteners. They accept not only flat-head screws but also pan-head, round-head, button-head, and truss-head screws, which making them easier to integrate into existing assemblies without sourcing specialised hardware.
  2. Greater Customisation Potential: Because the hole is a simple straight bore, through-hole pot magnets are much easier to modify after production. They can be stretched, cut, drilled, and polished to create custom shaped magnetic hooks, holders, stops, or fasteners. Thus, if you need bespoke components, through-hole designs give you more room for adaptation.
  3. Excellent vibration and shock resistance: Once the bolts are tightened through, the components cannot loosen due to vibration, impact, or thermal cycling, making them suitable for continuous vibration scenarios such as rotating machinery, tracks, and transmission systems.

Applications

1.Machine Guards, Access Panels & Enclosure Covers

The bolt passes through the guard panel and the magnet body, exits through the back, and is secured with a nyloc or flange nut. The magnetic face contacts the steel frame or machine body, providing instant snap-on positioning, while the locked nut prevents the guard from being displaced by vibration alone. Maintenance crews can remove and replace the guard in seconds by loosening just the through bolts – far faster than conventional bolt-and-thread panel fasteners that require precise thread alignment each time.

2. Conveyor Systems, Rail Components & Automation Fixtures

During the installation of the conveyor side rails, magnets are fixed in place by bolts passing through the steel walls of the rail brackets and the conveyor frame, with the bolts tightened to the specified torque. The magnetic preload keeps the brackets in place during installation (no need for a second worker to hold the brackets, bolts can be inserted from the other side), preventing the rail brackets from creeping over time.

3.Through-Bolt Door, Window & Hardware Installations

In heavy-duty door and window hardware (such as commercial fire doors, steel security roller shutters, warehouse roller shutters, and steel-framed sliding windows), magnetic door catches and position sensors must be installed on excessively thick frames. The straight-hole design allows for installation via bolts through hollow steel profiles, square tube frames, and composite door cores.
