This is an internal-mounted (IPM) rotor, by embedding neodymium magnets in a V-shape inside the rotor core. Besides the V-shaped arrangement, there is also a U-shaped arrangement. The internal-mounted design not only protects the permanent magnets but also provides high mechanical strength. Furthermore, by optimizing the magnetic circuit design, it generates significant reluctance torque, thus achieving higher torque density, a wider speed range, and higher efficiency.
